WHERE TO EAT: NASHVILLE

The boy and I have really been enjoying the Nashville food scene since moving here this past November.  After receiving several emails asking where to eat&drink in the city, I thought I'd share a few of my personal favorite spots:

Loveless Cafe:
Where:  8400 Hwy 100

This place is off the beaten path and you'll almost definitely be met with quite a wait, but it's well worth it.  One of my very favorite restaurants thus far.   Super unique with some of the best fried chicken this city has to offer.

Jeni's Ice Cream:

The best ice cream shoppe in the city.  My pick of the moment?  The chocolate peppermint ice cream sandwich.  After stopping in for ice cream, take a quick browse down 12th -- you'll find some of our best boutiques.

Martin's BBQ Joint:

Great atmosphere and great food.  This could be one of our most visited restaurants as of yet.  Martins is famous for its ribs and wings, but don't skip over the country salad -- it's my go-to.

Kayne Prime:

At the moment, Kayne Prime is my favorite upscale restaurant to date.  It's located in the Gulch -- just a mile from the nightlife of lower Broadway.  You'll find some of the best steaks in the city and an equally as great ambiance.

Patterson House:

Hands down my favorite place to grab a cocktail in Nashville.  This hush-hush speakeasy delivers the most unique list of well-mixed drinks, vested bartenders to serve them, and a playful roster of snacks.  One of my favorite places to stop for an after-dinner drink.  Don't forget to order the cinnamon doughnut holes for dessert! Pure yumminess.

Hattie B's:

Hattie B's is one of the most talked about stops in the city.  It's famous for its "hot chicken" and southern sides.  The boy and I stopped in a couple of weeks ago -- and now I absolutely get all the hype.  It's a fun casual stop with some of the best southern food I've had -- a perfect place to grab lunch on a Saturday afternoon.

Gigi's Cupcakes:

Just around the corner from Hattie B's is the country's first Gigi's Cupcakes.  They offer a wide assortment of flavors and the most perfect swirled icing -- not too sweet and just the right texture.  If you have a sweet tooth, this is a do-not-miss stop while in the city.
